Yes, the dreaded writer's check-in is upon us!

As it has been in past rounds, check-in #1 will be in poll format. It'll go live Tuesday, 1 May*--we're not entirely sure when, but you can safely assume it'll be afternoon-evening, Eastern Standard Time. The poll will remain open for four days and close Saturday, 5 May at midnight EST. At that point, you'll have to email us if something's come up and kept you from voting.

Recommended minimum word count is, as usual, 5K, but that is not a hard requirement. If you don't have 5K, we're not disqualifying you, we just want to make sure people are still here and working.

MINI-BANG WRITERS: If you're writing only one mini-bang, Tuesday, 1 May is also your withdrawal deadline! If you don't withdraw Tuesday, we're assuming you intend to finish and will hold you to that commitment.

BIG BANG WRITERS: If you're writing a regular big bang and have been contemplating dropping to a mini, Tuesday, 1 May is your declaration deadline! After that, you're writing the full 15K!

As always, questions are welcome here, at any admin post, or via email at aubigbang@gmail.com.

*Please note, check-in will be available on Livejournal and Dreamwidth; whichever service you choose, you'll need to use the same one for check-in #2; please do not check-in at both locations.

Is it bad that both of my 15K fics are finished? ^_-

Well, then I apologize for it. ^_- It really sucks though because I know even after my beta reads it I'm going to nitpick and edit until posting, and I have to pick a late posting date because the story before these won't get posted till end of August.

I'm out of town for work from this Tuesday to May 10, so if I forget to check in, can I email you after the 10th? (I'm not sure how much, if at all, I'll be able to have free Internet time while I'm traveling.)

Okay, awesome. I wrote myself a note, so I'll try to remember to log on and check in, but I wanted to double-check just in case!
Thank you!

Is it bad that I have not written a single word, but do not wish to swap to mini bb?
You did not write about a minimum word count for the first check-in, so I'm guessing I'm fine.

At least most of my plot is ready, unless I decide to change everything. Just need to finish another bb and then I'll start on this :D

Besides the fact that I somehow jumped over that part, or forgot it by the time I started writing, then everything is wonderful. Would hate to be thrown out because I'm a late bloomer. I think after the first part I was drawn to the bold text :P

If you're co-writing, do both of you need to check in?

I hate to do this, especially with 10k already written, but I'm going to have to drop out. RL and other committments are kicking my ass.

I am truly sorry to do this.

ETA - I should note that the story, as planned, would have been between 50k and 60k. Hence my inability to complete.

Hello, I have been working on all my stories (I'm doing a full big bang and two mini-bangs) and it's been going OK, but I am concerned about a medical issue I may be having. At the moment I'm feeling fine and my doctor did say the symptoms I had recently may just be a one-time thing. However, we've keeping an eye on it, and should the problem crop up again, it can mean anything from medication to surgery (in which case it's of course unlikely that I will be able to finish my stories before the deadline(s)). The issue, of course, is that right now there's no way of telling how things will turn out. So, really, my question is how you guys would prefer to handle this. I don't want to drop out, given that I'm feeling fine right now, but I don't want to cause more work for you if I don't turn out to be fine--so I'll go with whatever option you think is best.

Thanks--I do want to continue participating, so I will check in and go on writing for now. :) Hopefully I won't have any further problems, but it is of course impossible to predict how things will turn out, so I will keep you updated re: my situation.

Thanks again for understanding!
