As stated in the entry: Recommended minimum word count is, as usual, 5K, but that is not a hard requirement.
This is mostly to double-check who's still with us, and to serve as a placeholder for people so they have a rough idea of where they should be. That said, we get that not everyone writes the same way, so it's not as though we'll disqualify you just because you haven't started.
